Salt-laden air corrodes connectors, humidity fogs lenses, and monsoon lightning takes out power supplies. Here is what works.
- Use IP66/IP67 rated housings, not indoor units in outdoor boxes.
- Seal every junction with self-amalgamating tape, not insulation tape.
- Install a proper earthing and surge protector on the DVR/NVR line.
- Clean and re-focus lenses every quarter — this alone recovers most "blurry camera" complaints.
- Keep the recorder in a ventilated, dust-free cabinet, never in a sealed wooden box.
